We did a mystery audit. We called 5 vendors in Dehradun for the same 5kW Tata Power system.

The Quotes We Got:

  • Vendor A (Rajpur Road): ₹2.8 Lakhs
  • Vendor B (Haridwar Bypass): ₹2.4 Lakhs
  • Vendor C (Online Ad): ₹1.9 Lakhs

Why the difference? Vendor A added a "Liaison Fee" of ₹20k (which is illegal) and inflated the structure cost. Vendor C was cheapest but used "Galvalume" structure instead of "Hot Dip Galvanized" (which will rust in 2 years). The fair price? Around ₹2.3-2.4 Lakhs with proper mounting. Know your specs before you sign.
